Muyil and Lagoon
The ancient Mayan site of Muyil is located in the northern part of the Sian Ka'an Biosphere. This millennia-old trading post on the edge of freshwater lagoons and tropical forest is the perfect place to get an introduction to Mayan history and ecology.
Picturesque temples stand undisturbed among the trees where we take an eye-opening walk between temples and through the different eco-systems. From the archaeological area we take a path through the forest to get to know some of the most important trees in the region and also small cenotes.
Then take our boat through two lagoons, which are connected by a canal that has been used for centuries.
Xlapak is the name of the building that was built at the beginning of a river and is the beginning of a unique and unforgettable experience in which we will swim among mangroves with our life jackets.
